A sneaky one

If we can ask the hybridizer himself, then we prefer to ask him directly.  It is nice to search on your own for possible meanings, but with this one it’s not necessary.

We just asked Hazorea Aquatics directly and we immediately received the answer from Danny Benjamin.

Nymphaea Shady Lady is a chance seedling from Aurora.  The Nymphaea Aurora is one of the few varieties that are shade tolerant and grow pretty well in partly shade.

When we were looking for a convenient name, we wanted something that would be attractive but at the same time indicates the plant properties.

The term “shady lady” is suggestive as well (Shady lady: A woman who is outwardly nice but has sneaky and devious motives) – so we thought that this would be a good name and might attract people!

And I think they were right, I love this name!
